Spinal Cord Injury Recovery – It Takes a Miracle!

As a physician who treats people with Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI), I see all sorts of different degrees of severity of SCI.    Almost everyone asks the same question:  “Will I be able to walk?”  I see two types of miracles in my practice of SCI Medicine.  One is a miracle over matter.  The legs move!  The other is a miracle that occurs when we change the way we think about reality.

What is reality?  Some people face a different reality than others and some reality we all have to face.   One reality we all have to face is imperfection.  The Bible in Romans 3:23 says : “For all have sinned and  fall short of God’s glory.” Do you believe this to be true?  Have you ever lied, stolen, lusted or dishonored your parents?  I used to think that if I tried my best to do good that God would let me into heaven.  When Jesus was asked how a person can get into heaven He gave the Ten Commandments as God’s standard for entrance.   I realized that if God would judge me by the Ten Commandments then I would be guilty and go to hell.

How would you do if God judged you by the Ten Commandments?  It then became clear to me what the Bible has to say about why Jesus had to die and how my sins could be forgiven.  I decided to stop thinking that I could make it to heaven myself and do what Jesus said.  I repented (confessed and forsook my sins) and put my trust in what Jesus said about forging my sins.  I believe that Jesus Chris rose from the dead as proof of his forgiveness.  My friend, I pray that the reality of your sins and God’s judgment (hell) will cause you to repent of your sins, forsake them and put your trust in Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins and grant you eternal life.  That is the greatest miracle of all!  If you have questions or want to talk, email me at mea@socket.net.
